James Zamkotowicz is a life-long resident of York County and 1998 graduate of the Red Lion Area High School. A 2002 graduate of the University of Delaware, he received a Bachelor’s Degree in History and Criminal Justice. In 2005 Attorney Zamkotowicz obtained his Juris Doctorate from the Penn State-Dickinson School of Law in Carlisle, Pennsylvania and was admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar.
Attorney Zamkotowicz began training to be a prosecutor in 2003 as a 1L intern with the York County District Attorney’s Office and again as a 3L intern in 2005.
Since 2007, Attorney Zamkotowicz has served as an Adult Criminal Prosecutor, Juvenile Delinquency Prosecutor, and Appellate Prosecutor on behalf of the York County District Attorney’s Office and has personally appeared and argued numerous cases before, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, Pennsylvania Superior Court, the Pennsylvania Federal District Courts, the US Third Circuit Court of Appeals, and the York County Court of Common Pleas. In addition he has also handled civil litigation and numerous specialty duties on behalf of the York County District Attorney’s Office. In January of 2013 Attorney Zamkotowicz was chosen to be the Juvenile Unit Team Leader, and in January 2015 Attorney Zamkotowicz became the Appellate Unit Team Leader.
