Team Leader / Senior Deputy Prosecutor
David Maisch received his bachelors degree from the University of Delaware in 1987
with a major in Business and a minor in Political Science. He graduated from Cleveland-
Marshall College of Law in 1993.
Attorney Maisch started his career in the private practice of law in 1994. The majority
of his case load involved real estate matters, juvenile dependency, and estate planning. He
continued in private practice for eleven years. He was appointed to the position of solicitor for
the York County Recorder of Deeds during this time period.
Attorney Maisch accepted a position in the York County District Attorney’s Office in
2005. He handled cases in the Juvenile Unit and Special Case Unit before being promoted to
his current position of Senior Deputy Prosecutor in 2006. Attorney Maisch has also held the
position of Senior Deputy Prosecutor for an adult trial team.
The Juvenile Prosecution Unit handles all cases involving crimes committed by children
who are age ten to eighteen. All matters associated with these cases including certification to
adult court, detention hearings, restitution hearings, review hearings, and interviews of victims
in juvenile sex crimes are handled by the Juvenile Unit. Three different specialty courts are part
of the Juvenile Court. Those specialty courts are the Juvenile Mental Health Court, Fast Track
Drug Court, and Juvenile Drug Court. The Juvenile Court system has three judges handling
cases involving juvenile crimes.
