LAW STUDENT INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
The York County District Attorney's Office is accepting applications for its 2012 Summer Law Student Internship Program. The internship program is a ten-week program, which begins June 4, 2012 and ends August 10, 2012. Unfortunately, we are unable to pay our interns. All applicants must have completed one full year of law school. Due to limited space, we have only six internships available.
We have designed our program to allow interns to gain an excellent understanding of what it takes to be a prosecutor from the time a defendant is charged with a crime to the time of trial. This includes assisting prosecutors at preliminary hearings and during criminal jury trials. Specifically, interns will work with prosecutors in the office on research projects for cases currently being prosecuted, and if certified, interns will be able to gain first hand experience by conducting actual court hearings. Interns will also have an opportunity to write briefs for appeals pending before the Pennsylvania Superior Court, and if possible, attend oral argument.
If you wish to apply for an internship, please contact Jane Jacobs, Internship Coordinator, at (717) 771-9209 and an application and pre-interview questionnaire will be forwarded to you. All applications are due by May 1, 2012. Interviews for perspective candidates will be scheduled between May 1 and May 11, 2012. Shortly thereafter, selected candidates will be notified of acceptance. Please forward all applications to Jane Jacobs, York County District Attorney's Office, York County Judicial Center, 45 N. George Street, York, PA 17401.

functioning of a prosecutor’s office and the court system.
