Chief County Detective
After being drafted into the U.S. Army during the last draft for the Vietnam War, I completed my tour in 1974, and became a York County Park Ranger the following year. During my tenure as a park ranger, I was in the 29th municipal police class that graduated from the PA State Police Academy in Hershey, PA.
I started my police career as a patrolman with the East Manchester Township Police Department in December, 1977. On July 1, 1981, I was promoted to Chief of Police. On January 1, 1983, the Northeastern Regional Police Department was created when East Manchester Township, Mt. Wolf and Manchester Boroughs joined forces. I continued as Chief of the newly created department.
After 32 years in law enforcement, 28 of them as Chief, I retired from the Northeastern Regional Police Department in December of 2009, for a new challenge, that being to undertake the role of Chief County Detective for York County.
