Tom Kearney
District Attorney
Tom is a 1970 graduate of Red Lion High School. He graduated Penn State in 1973 with a B.S. in Community Development, and Dickinson Law School in 1977. He entered the practice of law with the York law firm of Shoemaker, Thompson, and Ness. Shortly thereafter he became an assistant DA in York under District Attorney J. Christian Ness and rose to the rank of 1st Assistant District Attorney.

In 1985, Tom ran for the office of District Attorney and was defeated by H. Stanley Rebert, who held the office for the next 24 years. Tom re-entered private practice specializing in criminal defense. In 2009, as senior partner in the law firm of Kearney & Marshall, PC, he again ran for the office of District Attorney and this time defeated Mr. Rebert in the Republican primary. He became York County's District Attorney in January of 2010.

Tom and his wife Diane reside in Springettsbury Township and are the proud parents of three grown children.
